Value depends greatly on the overall condition the gun is in. Also, 1894s that pre-date the move to the cross bolt safety can command a bit of a premium over more recent guns. My wife has one such, made in the late '70s I think, that she wouldn't sell for any price. It is not mint, but in very good condition overall and I'd be happy to find one like it (if I was in the market) for anything less than $850.
