Hunting Lease Website
Just spreading the word about a site our hunting lease just started using for keeping track of everything together. Its http://leasewall.com . So far they let you leave posts, comments, documents, and photos to share with your leasemates. We had been using email lists up till now, but this really he...

Re: Beer Vs Gas... which is worth more?
There's been price comparisons between gas and other consumables for years. They are all fun, except for the simple fact, we don't consume as much of those products as we do gas. Should we feel better than in comparison, a gallon of popular shampoo costs $28 a gallon? Only if you use a gallon of sh...

Beer Vs Gas... which is worth more?
This was a discussion at work the other day, and being a geek I had to break out my calculator and do some figurin'. Since I'm sure we'll continue to see gas prices rise dramatically in the next few months, I wrote a little website calculator that lets you conveniently compare the price of beer to t...

Re: CHL Website Resource
As a web developer by trade, I'm always looking for something interesting when I learn a new framework to test it out on. <SNIP>Mainly I wanted to do something with a framework called Rails, and I figured another repository of information for chlers couldn't be a bad thing. <snip> Let us know how t...

That's definitely a feature worth looking at.KFP wrote:I would like to see pictures of signs posted for each location - this would allow each individual to make their own decision based on the legality of the signs.
Good luck!

We actually started emailing about possibilities today.RHenriksen wrote:What if you offered your development time/effort as a collaboration with the founder of the existing Texas3006 website? That way we don't wind up with multiple silos of overlapping data.

Re: CHL Website Resource
While a national site might be helpful, it seems like it's an awful lot of duplication of effort when there's already a texas site that has a fairly extensive list of 30.06 locations. Having a backup is always good. I wasn't looking to replace that site, was just inspired to make something that was...

Re: CHL Website Resource
This feature would be compelling for businesses on both sides of the issue, because it would drive patronage to CHL friendly businesses and away from unfriendly ones. This would be the ultimate goal. Voting with one's wallet is always the best attention getter. I think many non-gun people don't und...

Re: CHL Website Resource
Exaclibur, I'm actually thinking of implementing that. Businesses would be able list themselves as "good" spot and optionally offer coupons/discounts for CHLers, similar to the model used by foursquare. The new posting are also mirrored on a facebook page, and a twitter feed.

CHL Website Resource
As a web developer by trade, I'm always looking for something interesting when I learn a new framework to test it out on. I have been the occasional user of the existing website that archives 30.06 locations. I tip my hat to the gentleman and people who created that site, and it inspired me to do so...

Re: I survived Costco...
Sounds like you're adapting just fine. I've been carrying about two months and noted that I spend less and less time worrying and matching clothes as I have a pretty good idea what works, doesn't, and works in a pinch.

Re: With the cooler weather.....
No change here. My service size PX4 is behind my hip everyday same as usual. Though on some days I get to carry OWB with a big sweatshirt which is a nice change sometimes.

Re: High Ride OWB/Paddle Holsters
I recently picked up a Don Hume J.I.T slide for my beretta. Its perfect for the days I wear bigger polos, or now with cooler weather - sweatshirts. Works well with the right cover garment. Good retention, lightweight, I like it.

Re: Trying IWB carry
I carry a full size Beretta IWB with a MTAC at about 3:30. My only "complaint" is that the bucket seats in my truck tend to push the grip into my back. Otherwise, its darn comfortable and I can wear anything in my normal wardrobe. I have to admit with the drop in temps it was nice to throw...
