I live not too many miles from the DPS Headquarters here in the Austin area so it was one day delivery for me. The letter was postmarked 10/27 (yesterday) so I suspect you might get yours tomorrow or Saturday depending on how far out you are from Dallas and if your are rural. I hope it shows tomorrow! Sounds like everyone was mailed today but me. My status is still in Background Review. Record is spotless so I cannot understand why it is taking so long. In fact, the FBI has already cleared me on 2 separate occasions in the past few years for more important ventures (neither of which took near this long). Maybe they are recognizing my name and think I am on one their naughty lists.. LOL.

I too have a FOBUS paddle holster. It is very comfortable but near impossible to conceal with the full size SA that I carry. I also have a couple of the 5.11 Holster Shirts and they are excellent! They are comfortable and no printing. Of course, you really have to wear them with the 5.11 Covert Casual shirt (or similar) over it to make quick access to your weapon realistic. I also have a drop leg tactical holster and I am praying for the day I can just wear that one everywhere and not worry about this conceal nonsense... heh heh!

I don't know why I figured background check and fingerprints were part of the same step in this process.

I think I will go read through the old JUNE Waiting Room thread to live vicariously through all their "Plastic In Hand!" posts!

FINALLY some movement.... very slow, incremental movement... but movement! Fingerprints are now complete. Ever closer...

Ughhh... just checked and fingerprints and background are STILL in review... <sigh>... what could be taking so long!?!?!
