Kimber Ultra CDP II
Kimber Ultra CDP II, bought new in January 2010
My wife owned a 3” Springfield Armory GI (steel frame) and made the mistake of trying my Ultra Carry one day. She sold the Springfield shortly thereafter and bought a new Ultra CDP, which she immediately shot much better. I paid for the work by Ken Crawley (http://www.crawleycustom.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), because I wanted hers to be just as good as mine.
--4-lb trigger job by Ken Crawley at Crawley Custom—includes bar stock single-sided thumb safety, hammer, disconnect and sear. I still have the original ambi safety, if you want it.
--Crimson Trace “carbon fiber” pattern laser grips. I cannot seem to find the original grips.
However, she does not shoot frequently, and although it was her intent, she has not gotten her CHL, and she does not see it happening anytime soon.
So she has asked me to sell it.
Pistol has about 500 rounds through it—50 rounds of mixed factory FMJ/JHP and 450 rounds of my mild 200gr SWC target handloads. Zero malfunctions of any kind.
Original box, papers, etc.
We have owned eight Kimber 1911s (four of which have been alloy-framed 3”ers) and each has been reliable and accurate. I carry a 4” Pro Eclipse every day.
There is a reason I keep buying Kimber 1911s—that reason is…because they work.
I see some people talking smack about Kimber reliability, so I will extend this offer:
I will be happy to meet you at Bass Pro Grapevine any weekday evening and let you fire as many rounds of whatever ammo you choose through it before you buy.
Okay…let’s talk price.
The pistol cost her $1010 plus tax (MSRP is $1331 these days).
The Crimson Trace laser grip was $259 ($299 these days).
The trigger job was $175 (I don’t know what he gets today, so we’ll leave it there)..
Total is $1440 back then, or $1805 today…
I would like to get $1250. If you do not want the Crimson Trace, I will take another $150 off.
Pics available…just send me an email address, and if you want any specific photos, let me know.
I will leave this up for one week to Texas CHL holders before I post elsewhere. I would prefer that the new owner get to hold, shoot and evaluate before purchasing.
