Re: Need an informed answer
By the way, all credit unions, by their nature are owned BY THEIR MEMBERS and none are owned by the Federal Govt. They can call the credit union Security Service Federal Credit Union but it denotes that the primary membership are federal Security Service employees who actually own the credit union and all credit unions must be insured in some fashion by the FDIC... not exactly the same as a bank but in a similar manner. (I can't recall exactly what the difference is but there are some differences). Thanks to all who answered. I didn't think there was any Fed regulations. Only thing I could think of was an employee handbook policy that might restrict.

Need an informed answer
My child works for a financial institution in a back office position. They are moving to a location where there is perceived less security than the current location and my child works evening hours. She expressed interest in a CHL but was told by her company that it was impossible to carry because a Fedrerally Insured Insitution does not allow carry on the premises. Strange! I carry every time I go into one of their facilities and they are not marked with a 30.06 sign. Anyone ever heard of a restriction on carry in a Federally Insured Facillity? I know that if they don't want employees carrying, they can just write a rule against it but a Federal statute? Hmmm. I know how to check the Texas law but don't have a clue where to start looking to fact check this so-called Federal statute. Any help would be appreciated. I was also vauge regarding details of my child's identity and place of employment on purpose. Thanks -
