Re: Handgun equipment/technique questions from Newbie

Never tried a laser sight and from what I've read in these posts it seems that the dot chasing I suspected I'd do is what some others experience. In spite of having 60 year old eyes, as of tomorrow, when I shoot off hand I still do much better using iron sights than a scope or red dot sight. All the jiggling which I can see through a scope just messes up my breathing and trigger control. (Either rifle or handgun and yes I know, I need more practice, and to get rid of my old age tremors. It is a different matter when shooting from a braced position or a rest.)

I often practice point shooting for low light and night situations. I can keep almost all my shots in a paper plate up to 5 yards from any position with either hand, even while moving, and just think it is a bunch faster trying to find a red dot. But heck, I don't use sights on my bow either so what do I know.
