Glad to see that the rejected ink prints didn't delay the process too much once you supplied the FAST.

Congratulations

warhorse10_9 wrote:Called today, I was on day 56 with background still pending. I self-reported an arrest which was dismissed and I was wondering if that was holding things up. I called, waited about 30 min on hold finally I got someone and they transferred me to the technician who was handling my application. She said all I would need to do was fax a copy of the dismissal slip from court and she would clear my app. So should be pending manufacture soon!
:woohoo

Did you not supply all the documents relating to your arrest and it's dismissal when you sent in your application?

5 weeks for fingerprints, how did you do them?

My fingerprints were good to go when my status was updated online, but I did FAST.

XinTX wrote:Ink prints taken at the class.

I'm just going to schedule a time with L1. I don't think I HAVE to wait for the "bad prints" letter. Or do I?

I wouldn't think so, unless they attach some sort of PIN to your letter.

If I were you I would give them a call and be prepared to be on hold for about 30 minutes.

Good Luck!

"MAILED" today!!!! :rolll

Received my plastic and new Air Marshal holster today :hurry: after a bit of drama/prank by my loving wife.

I arrived home to find the mail lying on the count. The envelope on top was from the "DPS Department of Licensing", I immediately started doing the happy dance.... I ripped the envelope open and found my wife's new drivers license inside, my heart sank :rules: !!! I did a quick double take of the addressee on the front of the envelope and it was address to me???? I must have had a really stupid look on my face because my dearest start laughing her head off!!!!! She was nice enough to hand me my license before she started rolling around on the floor bust'n a gut. "rlol"

For the record I have decided pay back is in order!!!!!!! :waiting:

Time for my wally walk :anamatedbanana :thewave :anamatedbanana

rmr1923 wrote:i haven't posted in this thread in a while, here's my current status:

12/31/10 - took class, online application completed
1/3/11 - mailed materials to DPS
1/6/11 - received by DPS
today - everything green except background check... nothing's changed in the past 3 weeks since the fingerprint status went green.

i did have several previous addresses (moved a lot in college) and one prior juvenile arrest (class B misdemeanor in january 2000), but i didn't expect it to take this long to at least hear SOMETHING from the DPS. they were responding to emails at first and told me that if they needed court records they'd mail me a letter, but so far nothing's come in the mail and they won't respond to email or phone inquiries with anything other than "we're still running your background check". :totap:

i have found that as more time has passed, i haven't been nearly as anxious about how quickly i'll get my CHL as i was in the first couple weeks after taking the course. the past month has been pretty busy at work and i got a promotion yesterday, so i've at least had a few things to distract my attention away from waiting for the DPS.
You're about 9 days behind me and we're both in the same boat. I had a few Class C misdemeanors way back in 90-93, and sent in the corresponding paperwork(well actually paperwork that showed I had no records on file), but I called and actually waited about 25 minutes till I talked to someone who told me 60 days is the norm, but there have been a few fast issues.

If you read previous months 45-60 days is the norm, but for some reason some of the December and a lot of the January applications seem to have blazed through for some reason.

It's not the new math that's giving you problems, it's the new composing that's all mixed up

Re: January 2011 Applications

It does seem that most people are still taking around 60 days, it's just for some reason a few posters have gotten theirs in lightning fast time (17 days in one case), that it brings out the "why not me too" factor.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the process speed.
