Scopes are not allowed, but there is no restriction on the barrel length, conceal-ability, or practicality as long as it is a handgun. Besides, let 'em try with that thing. From what I've seen of them at the range, it would jam up so often they would have to requalify anyway.

If it is classified as a handgun, I allow it. It does not have to be the gun he will carry. The staff at our instructor class even teased some students about their 6" barrels.
