It does more than the one in Florida.

Re: "Florida will become like Texas"
I spend a lot of time in Florida and I have attended the FL CHL training. I would agree, it would be nice if Texas CHL law was more like Florida's. I do like Texas' training procedures more though. Florida has about three hours of training and a familiarization shoot. At my shoot in FL I was the onl...

Re: Carrying in other states
Texas (home), Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. I spend a lot of time in Florida so I did attend the state CHL training, but have not applied for the license.
For travel purposes I use the Pack-N-Go Carry Concealed Trip Planner which, unfortunately, appears to be offline at the moment.

Re: This is way to far TSA
Regarding flying without an ID. I recently flew to Houston Hobby and inadvertently left my drivers license in the box at my departure airport. I didn't discover this fact until I was at the rental car place in Houston. Naturally I was concerned about my return flight interaction with TSA. I would ha...

The bike guys have this saying "Share the Road". It only seems fair we share the expense.

Re: Florida bill to allow open-carry
Exactly. I spend a good portion of the year in Florida and carry on my TX CHL. I have taken the FL CHL class and can verify the there is no 30.06 equivalent law in Florida so there would be no "immediate" backlash there. In Texas that is not the case and I would agree with those who think ...

Re: Moving to El Paso in near future...Looking to get CHL
I lived in El Paso for a number of years and was in the National Guard there (3-133FA). I found El Paso to be a quite friendly place, with great Mexican food. It's a bout 700 miles from anywhere though, Denver, Dallas, San Diego. Nearby things to see include White Sands Missile Range Museum and Miss...

Re: NY Rep Peter King proposes new gun law
with the current size of the federal government, It isn't possible avoid all federal officials by 1,000 feet unless you're in the middle of the prairie. In DC at least, this is a lets them bypass the 2nd Amendment again following the Supreme Court's recent ruling on possession of a firearm. what do...

I remember reading somewhere that you are more likely to get physically assaulted in the UK then in the US. I'll try and hunt down the source.

Re: ACLU Sues SD over Concealed Carry
My understanding of Wet Foot is that intercepting individuals trying to illegally enter the US in the act, but not on US soil negates the issue of applicability of US law. Once the illegal entry is accomplished and the person is on US soil the law applies and the rights/privileges associated with it...

Re: L.B.J. Ranch
The thing to remember in a Federal park is building includes restrooms. So in theory if you are hiking and come across a trail side facility... :nono: Next time I see one of my NPS buddies I'm going to have to ask them what their take on this would be. Restroom is not a "federal facility"...
