I would glady face a slightly increased risk of terrorism in exchange for fewer TSA procedures.

Exactly the same reason why gun "free" zones are bad and CHL is good.

Criminals are going to do as they please so maximizing opportunity and minimizing incovnenience for the good guys makes the most sense.

A good start would be for Texas to not cave to the TSA/DHS and call their bluff as far as the anti-pat down legislation.

Ditto for the EPA and all the other ways Washington is trying to punish Texas.

Like most other intrusive law enforcement practices, it will incovenience and "false positive" good people while having little effect on wrongdoers.
