Generic "No firearms" signage and symbols at public parks

I've noticed generic "No firearms" signage or symbols at several local parks and public areas, with two specific example being Oyster Creek Park in Sugarland and the George Mitchell Preserve in The Woodlands.

I take this to mean "No unauthorized posession and usage of weapons" and not applicable to legitimate concealed carry.
