Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
It's sadly ironic that CT was also where perhaps the worst home-invasion crime took place back in 2007, and is almost as if the people there are somehow easier victims.

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
I'm going to guess that one of the weapons was a 9mm Glock, perhaps with a 30-round magazine.
So expect callls for large magazine bans at the very least.

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
Not only was it in a "Gun-free" zone, but also in a state that I assume has very strict gun laws and "May issue" CHL.
So as I see it, all the laws to prevent this were already in place.

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
The latest report is that the shooter was one of the children's father, so I'm speculating a very ugly custody "snatch" or selfishly taking himself and the child out.
Domestic "bliss" kills far more than guns ever will.

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
Rumor has it that was a recently-fired employee, which is the root cause again and again.
Perhaps instead of blanket gun bans, schools and businesses should watch more closely for fired employees coming back a short time later.

Good point.Kythas wrote:You're mistaking the anti-gun crowd for people who use logic and rational thought.
Unfortunately, this looks to be one of those events that is first reported as 1 death but grows over the next few days.

Re: One child reportedly dead after gunman opened fire
Prayers and best wishes to the victims.
To those who are saying "Something should be done!", the Gun-Free School Zones law was enacted in 1990.
And unless the shooter was licensed to carry, it can't be blamed on CHL holders.
In short, it's a people problem, not a gun problem.
