I'm calling Sen. Wentworth's office to see if he has the votes to get it to the floor. The staffer is supposed to get back to me, but I'll call before I go to town.

Lucio's a "No".

Wentworth has refused to put Lucio's amendment into the bill, so the Senator will not be voting for it.

I guess HS students' lives aren't as valuable as college students.

If he said "University" that means Texas A&M-Kingsville and the Early College Program.
I think he's treading on thin ice here. The wording on this will have to be very specific as not to compromise the integrity of the bill.

Call Sen. Hinojosa's office and politely ask him to suspend house rules today and put this up for a vote. Even if he votes against it.

Then call your Senator and ask them to vote for it.

The local and uncontested calendar is now, and the reg. order of business starts at 10.

Driver's office said he's trying his best.

He's been in contact with them repeatedly trying to get it on calendars.

BTW, I got an alert that SB354 has been reported favorably as substituted.

I'm from the district next door to Hinojosa's. They take all calls from all over concerning the issues, so yes, it is important that they hear from people in other places.

I just got off the phone with his analyst for this particular bill. Seems the good senator voted with what his constituents wanted, and not his personal beliefs.

He does, according to this fellow, have his CHL (as does the analyst.)

He has an A+ or 100% NRA rating.

The problem is, he was listening to uninformed people. Might be time to fire off a letter to the editor(s) of the three major Valley newspapers.
