Private colleges can't "opt out" without the Public ones moaning and complaining about it.

There are more private/church run colleges than public ones. Maybe not by admissions, but by physical (premises) numbers. (4-year, not Junior or technical colleges)

40 in the main systems (Tech, A&M, U of H, and the one that shall not be named)

53 private/independent colleges.

It may not need to. SB1581 has a companion bill in the House that has already been voted out of Calendars; it should be on the supplemental calendar for tomorrow.

ETA: sponsors of the companion HB3639 (Pitts and Aycock) are both TSRA A-rated, although neither is a HB750 cosponsor.

Kind of like they did for HB 681... I think they substituted SB 321 for it when it came up.

I don't think these go to Calendars. I think Calendars sets the House Calendars, and whatever comes from the Senate gets pushed to the front. I'm probably wrong.

BTW, Johhny Woodhead is despondent in his tweeting.
