this reminds me....when my dad retired from the military he was still very physically fit, which the dress shirts weren't made for at the time, so my mom would put two tucks/vertical darts in the back to make them fit nicely on him. it would take up the "blousely-ness" but it would allow him to buy them to fit his neck and shoulders. a decent tailor should be able to do this. I've done it before, it's easy, you just want to be sure they don't take in too much.

if a shirt is long enough but just a little snug, layer it with a button up, you can leave the button up open, so you're not adding much weight/heat. It'll give you a little extra coverage. It looks very well put together. I think it's a nicer look. I know my daughter thinks so too.
