As long as you stay in the "touristy" part of Belize, the Cayes, or down in Placencia, Belize is not so bad. The Belize City and Belmopan areas are places to stay away from, especially at night.

Still is interesting to know that PR has a higher murder rate than Ethiopia.
And the USVI is in the "Top" 10... that's awful. I've been there.
Not something to be proud about.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other about aggregating their data with the rest of the US...
And I don't have any expectations of the NU being any kind of impartial. :mrgreen:

EDIT: My BIL invited us to share a beach house in Belize during spring break next March. Unfortunately, we are on different spring break schedules so it didn't work out (house would have been free!).. Well... now I see why the house was free. Belize is #6 on this ominous list. :shock: There's some excellent SCUBA diving in Belize.... Didn't realize the crime was so bad.
