I doubt Straus sees it that way. Whether you like his politics or not, he's a smart guy. He may just see the momentum behind these bills and is not prepared to further oppose them. Very different tone than "capitulation". He likely has bigger fish to fry. In the face of mounting pressure to pass these gun bills, it MAY be as simple as a decision to spend his political capital elsewhere.v7a wrote:Is Strauss capitulating to save face from being outmaneuvered?
