Re: LTC Renewal Time
Quite possibly. Thanks big454 for the update.puma guy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:19 amIt appears to me your application was lost in the proverbial crack until someone shined a flashlight on it.big454 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:10 amShe kind of gave me the reason it got moving (took me calling and asking for supervisor) but not why it was stalled. I know that at the very beginning my status had actually stated all green but the background check and print pending after application review, then later it showed fingerprints under review. Seems like the fingerprints under review is what put a halt to the quick process. But then I called and they stated the fingerprints were good , but then why was I showing them under review? Don't really know honestly . Still have my AZ packet on the way.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 7:48 amAny reason given for the delay?big454 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 6:28 pm Well, talked to DPS again yesterday and the lady stated the license was good to go. That my asking for a supervisor pushed things along. Hmm, why do we have to call to speed things along and others get their renewals so quickly? Today my status shows Print pending , background complete.
Glad you got it sorted. Sure would be interesting to know why.
I still think that DPS does a top-notch job overall, but, like any service organization, isn't always perfect.

Re: LTC Renewal Time
I'm curios too... Please let us know if you ever figure out the reason for the delay.jimmiesatx wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 5:12 am After a couple of calls from my state reps office things are finally getting done. The print of my LTC is pending, and I should have it in hand in the very near future.
What has me curious is no new info was needed, or requested, and nothing has changed for me at all. I would love to know what caused the delay. Doubt it was distance as I am in San Antonio.
I am still submitting for the AZ permit as well as a back up.
Also.... FYI... AZ licenses expire 5 years from issue date, regardless of your birthday (unless something changed since I got mine in 2016). If you apply for an AZ license a half-year from your birthday, you should never have less than about 1 year to work through any renewal issues. (6 months for TX renewal plus 6 more months (at least) of validity on the AZ license).

Re: LTC Renewal Time
IMO, TX DPS does a fantastic job most of the time.
It would be interesting to know why these few renewals are hung up. I'm betting there's a reason, not incompetence.
Still.. always good to have a backup plan on something so important.

Re: LTC Renewal Time
You should be able to get one of these via mail in 75 days.jimmiesatx wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 9:46 am Been having a back and forth with DPS. They stated it may take up to 180 days to receive my renewal. They have all required documents, and information but are still stating that it may take that long. If it does I will be out of compliance, and will not be able to legally carry.
All my docs were receive 02/18/2019, and I have since gotten my state rep involved.

I believe a copy of your current TX license is sufficient for "demonstrating competence". Worked for me a few years ago.

Re: LTC Renewal Time
Just make sure they don't both expire in the same year.RDT806 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 10:20 pmNo but I'm definitely thinking about doing that.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 11:29 amOoo. But everyone I talked to was getting there's back within 3 weeks so I didn't worry about it too much. Lesson learned.
Hopefully you have a backup? I have an AZ license just in case something like that happens.

Re: LTC Renewal Time
I would think that with electronic prints you should be GTG on prints quality...big454 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:17 am I submitted mine digitally . They were good enough 4 years ago. I think I would have received something by snail mail if I needed something else. But you never know really. I don't expire until until August but still I like taking care of business early . They should have 45 days for renewal and I'm holding them to it.
So much for my theory.
Thankfully you've got time....

Couldn't help but chuckle at these back to back posts...MP(Ret)95B wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 10:22 pm Submitted March 20th (evening)
Arrived today (April 3rd)
Looks like big454 is having a problem with prints. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a request to resubmit.
Curious whether big454 prints on file were submitted electronically or on the old paper card. My local cop shop scanned my prints electronically, then printed them on the card for submitting to DPS, before they started with the digital print process. So far, no problems for me.

Wife sent her renewal in on Friday. Nothing yet.
