Looks like crow for lunch today. :mrgreen: Was it ever owned by Crosby or the County? Records show it's been under the same private ownership back to 2006.

...but they have a gov't exemption on land and property X1 whatever that means...???

You're right. Call me socialist, but I think private property owners rights should be revoked. As long as I get my rights and the right to control other peoples rights, I'm good. :smilelol5:

Disclaimer, in case it's no obvious, I'm being facetious. :txflag:

...so the buttskis own the private property...and they have the right to post it...then they ask the public to donate to their programs...and they host skeet shoots...it's just more of the hypocritical guff that we get from a lot of businesses...we want your money, but we want to deny your right to carry...p.s. don't look to us to protect you...security costs too much...it's all about our money and not about us...all socialists are hypocrites...but not all hypocrites are socialists...

This one may be legal to post. The only record in the CAD for taxes shows property for Crosby Fair & Rodeo Inc as the owner, not Harris County. Here is the link to the record http://www.hcad.org/records/details.asp ... bld=1&tab=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So, if the county has turned this land over to a private corporation to run, then they can post it as they see fit.

...same like the Ft. Worth Zoo, where the city owns it but it's managed by an Association...I guess...still doesn't seem right...???

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

...asking a local prosecutor is just like asking a store manager did he REALLY mean to keep us out...you're asking a political animal to flex his muscles and beat his chest...and you'll get his own agenda...you don't see either LEOs or DAs asking OUR opinion...

...OUR responsibility is to know and understand what the law AS THE LEGISLATURE WORDED IT means...that requires understanding the english language...

...THEIR responsibility is to enforce and prosecute violations of that law...AS IT IS WRITTEN...

...the judge and/or jury's job is to give both of us a report on how well we did...

...I won't suck up to the enforcement/prosecutory folks, hoping for a feel-good "but the officer SAID" encouragement...I can read the law for myself...if THEY can, too...there should be no conflict...if there's a conflict...the courts/appeal process is our recourse...criminal and civil...

...KNOW the law...it's not that complicated...LIVE by it and CARRY(or don't) by it...and don't torment yourselves with the "sky is falling" and "what was that rumor?" stuff...you'll enjoy life a whole lot more....
...Oldgringo says CONCEAL IT...my Daddy said ZIP IT...quietly ignore those who by their attempts to post properly or by their macho blustering about what they'll do to us prove to us that they don't know the law...it's NOT OUR JOB to educate them...REALLY it's not...

Who is it alienating? No sign is valid or enforceable so you take care of business and go on with your day as usual.

...you been watchin' me??? of course I do, but if you'll follow a few threads 'round here, you'll see that there are a lot of guys who aren't quite as reckless as I am, and they're afraid to...so if I can make him think about all the gunners and hunters he might be offending, the signs might come down faster than if I point out his gaffe...so it's alienating ME, and maybe 2 other voters in the County in which he wants to be re-elected ...
