Re: Chupacabra photographed in Texas

I've seen two of these things around my area. Even took pictures with my cell phone of one of them walking through my neighborhood. Sent an email to two of the local news stations and never got responses back from either one! Talking about Big Foot, I was acquiring some seismic data in east Texas a ...

Re: Video on South African Church shooting

I just got back from South Africa (Cape Town) on business. Had a talk with the cabi on the way back to the airport. I asked him about their gun laws. He said a few years ago that they had to surrender all their firearms to the government, in a campaign to cut violence. As we talked, he became very n...

Looks great!

Did you design it after any particular holster, or is it your own design?

Re: New Toy From The Conroe Gun Show Today!

And it is appreciated every time you post it. I still refer to it on occasion. With the Mosin's, be sure you check the firing pin depth prior to shooting. Too deep and it will penetrate the primer, causing serious issues, as these are not gas ported so any blowback is straight against the bolt, whi...

Re: New Toy From The Conroe Gun Show Today!

It was $125, which is on the low side range for the hex receiver models. The hex receiver is the more desirable model as I understand, because they were built before the mass production came alone to supply the war. Better detail to quality. It also has the solid wood stock as compared to the lamina...

New Toy From The Conroe Gun Show Today! *UPDATE IN OP*

Found a good deal on a great condition Russian Mosin Nagant. Never had any of the WWII era rifles, so I had to pick one up. This one's a 1932 M91/30 with the hex receiver. Chambered in 7.62x54r. Beautiful gun! Came with the bayonet, two ammo pouches, tool kit, and oil/solvent can. Got to give it a g...

Re: S&W Bodyguard .38 - finally bought a revolver!!

Bought one for the wife recently. She hasn't had the opportunity to shoot it yet, but I've put about 50 rounds through it. I was really surprised at how accurate I was with it. It does pack a punch though, which worries me about the wife shooting it. She's use to my Colt .357 shooting .38 special ou...

Re: Federal ammo recall

Called Federal four times today. No answer. Left message and sent electronic message via their web site. About 3:30 this afternoon, received a call back from a guy in Minnesota (who said he'd been on calls non-stop all day). I asked him about the Federal Champion from Wal Mart and he said the lot n...

Re: Mounting Holster in car

After watching the video someone posted on how to make a magnetic holster, I'm going to see if there is somewhere under the dash of my F150 I could mount one. Anyone ever consider/try this idea? I figure it would conceal well, and a BG probably wouldn't look for it there. [youtube]http://youtube.com...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

I'm a huge Alabama fan, graduating from there with a bull in Geology and also a M.S. in Geophysics. Our war-cry is Roll Tide, and now I've lived in Texas since 2003. And to be a bit truthful, I love incorporating a good Roll Tide while associating with Texas folks (UT) because of us winning the 2009...
