This is going to sound weird, because I am a Democrat, but I really wish Newt had taken better care of his personal business. Back in the day when he was a young firebrand and still sleeping with his first wife, he was one of the most promising politicians in Washington (and I mean that in a good way). Gingrich is still razor-sharp and a savvy politician and I would love to see him challenge Obama, who despite all the invective and hate, is also very smart. I don't know who would win but the debates would at least be well worth watching. Sadly, I have a feeling Gingrich's personal peccadillos have left him unelectable. Maybe he could "pitch-debate" for the Republican candidate.
