Re: Have you ever actually drawn your CHL Weopon in self def

I didn't actually have to draw...thank God! I work with sound in many interesting places and with many interesting people, some of which are hired by the venue to be grunt labor. Most of the time, I don't have problems. A couple of months ago, another guy from my company and I were working a concert...

Re: Are you still comfortable?

I, for the most part, carry my p226 in .40. I am have a big enough frame and can wear untucked loose outdoorsy type shirts to even carry it owb in a pancake holster. However, there are times where I just can't carry it iwb, owb or any other way than off body. For that, I bought a p238 (this was befo...

Re: Have shootings ever happened near you?

While I've never been around shootings or armed robberies, I do tend to work in the worst places it seems. I also am an audio engineer and the gigs always seem to be in the darkest seediest places. It doesn't help that my work "days" tend to end at 0100 or later. My church also is in a bad...

Re: What's your EDC knife?

I carry a benchmade griptillion...straight edge...the older larger thumbhole style...been a great knife for many years...and you can get them off of the Internet for 50-80 bucks, depending on where you look. I paid over 100 for mine at a local gun shop...sigh.

Re: Went OWB Conceal Carry Today

I generally wear owb in a homemade leather paddle holster for my 3914. I tend to wear Columbia "hiking" type pants or cargo pants with an outdoorsy hiking/fishing shirt untucked. I also will wear a homemade all leather supertuck copy if I wear t shirts only or dress up. I actually found a ...

Re: Got busted tonight.

We have several members that carry, a sergeant in the PD and a fire marshall included. In fact, my chl instructor was the sergeant and we took the in class portion at our church. I carry everytime I'm there, our church is downtown and near some questionable places. A man was in our offices during th...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?

My name came about because I at one time wanted to teach music...then I realized I didn't like performing solo in front of crowds. That was a game changer. And Branson is my last name.

Re: Daily Toreador - Concealed Carry On Campus

I had a conversation with a Texas tech PHD student today about concealed carry on campus. This particular gent has his chl, but doesn't carry often. He is of the opinion that ccw shouldn't be allowed ob campus, he is afraid that a young (read undergrad) student would get upset about a failing grade,...

Re: February 2011 Applications

Hooray!!!

Am now finally "in line" for my CHL. I mailed in my application (certified) on Feb 16 and it finally got there...apparently. I'm just waiting on my fingerprints (the old analogue type) and my background to go, and then we are off to the presses!
