Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581
According to Rep Garza's office a point of order can be made and the amendment stripped if it is subsituted for the HB. I hope this in not the case and have called at least 2 times telling him to oppose any attempt to strip the amendment and plan to call again Monday morning. I would call this weekend but no answer.

Re: HB 3639 - SB 1581
I just got off the phone with Rep Garza's office and the very nice lady who answered the phone indicated that rules in the Senate are different in the house and if SB 1581 is subsituted with Wentworth's amendment then a point of order could be made and the amendment stripped from the bill. She also said that they would be cautious to set a precedent to suspend the rules to allow the amendment for fear of how it could be used in the future.
She also said, when I questioned about his position of the Senate/House bills that would allow legislators to carry places average citizens with CHLs could carry and she said he is against having a seperate class of citizens and may offer an amendment to have it apply to everyone instead of voting no if the bills came to a vote on the floor.
She also said HB 750 is all but dead as there are currently 300+ plus bills on the calendar and even if 750 came out of Calendars it would die before Thursday at midnight.
So far I have not been thoroughly impressed with Rep Garza and don't see how he has actively supported gun rights at all this session (except voting yes for a few bills in the B and I committee). He has not signed on as coauthor or as a sponsor to any 2A bills this year all while stating he supports the issue, actions speak louder than words Mr. Representative!
