Re: AR Poll

Very interesting results from this poll.

The RRA scored surprisingly low.

Great comments were made that i have learned quite a bit from.

To be honest i like the RRA Coyote/Predator look. They don't look quite as "Military".

Time to start looking.

Appreciate the looks and comments.

Re: AR Poll

Last day of voting and the S&W has edged ahead.

Kind of surprised that the RRA is so far behind.

Need to start taking a closer look at Daniel Defense.

I recently moved to Tx and live in Pearland I have a S&W M&P MOE with some ergonomic upgrades and a Burris AR-332 but nothing crazy...

If you'd like ... maybe you know of a range we can meet at and you can try the M&P if that would help in your decision.

Nice looking set up.

What kind of scope is that?

No, I understand that. My rant wasn't aimed at you, sorry if you took it that way. it was aimed at fanboys on websites who insist that if it ain't a [insert name of holy wazoo triple lindy weapon which is the favored choice of special forces operators], it ain't nuthin. My guess is that most of them still live with their mothers and don't have a girlfriend.
"rlol"

That's funny and probably very true.

Me I'm 28 years married and have two in college including one at A&M. That's why I'm having to use some common sense in making this purchase.

I'm a solid middle of the road kind of guy and my purchase will reflect those values.

That sounds good. Do you shoot anywhere now? I'll be joining PSC soon. Can you post a pick or send me an e-mail?

gigag04 wrote:As far as quality of individual components goes, you're looking at this:

RRA < S&W M&P < DD

However, if it's "just an AR" than all three will suit you fine. S&W is the best value, and DD is the best rifle of yours listed.
Don't really understand the logic.

Componet wise you show DD last and then you call it the best rifle listed.

Would seem to me that best components = best rifle IMO.

What's up?

mrvmax wrote:It all depends upon what you want it for. If it will sit in your safe and only be fired a few times a year any AR will do.

Target shooting is going to be the main focus. RRA says they have a better MOA guarantee. Don't know if it;s true or not or that big of a deal for a amateur shooter.

I know a bolt action will be better from a accuracy standpoint but I'm going to go the AR 15 route.

My biggest hang up us i really like the M&P products but i for some reason think the RRA offers more in a stock version rifle.

Suggestions are welcome.

Good point.

What's a good price point on a build your own?
