It's worth the ride. It was about two hours from Friendswood. I called and checked to see if what i wanted was in stock before making the drive.

Use a gps it''s in the middle of no where.

They have everything for a shooter. Saw plenty of 1911's, mags and holsters, targets, ammo and such. Think i saw some reloading stuff.

I'll go back up the next time i'm in the market for something,

They had a ton of long guns in every type including 50 cals and the handgun cases were packed with inventory.

Re: Help me choose a .45 ACP

Just joined the M&P club. 4.5" barrel with trijicon nite sites.

$499.00 out the door at Independance Fire Arms in Brenham. These guys have some serious inventory.

Took a close look at a Springfield Loaded but it was $750.00 and the wife was standing there :biggrinjester: .

Need to find me some HSM ammo.

Will shoot it tomorrow.

Re: Help me choose a .45 ACP

You're right. Nothing does. I love 'em. And I still shoot better with my M&P. I don't really know why.[/quote]

Care to share some theories as to why?

The M&P is 10+ ounces lighter than a 1911 and it's basically the same grain being used everytime. Would seem as the old thoughts go that a 1911 steel frame can better handle the recoil and reaquisition of target.

Re: Help me choose a .45 ACP

Stopped by Collectors this morning.

Handled a M&P .45 and a couple of 1911's.

Liked the M&P but yeah there is nothing like the feel of a 1911 in the hand.

Re: Help me choose a .45 ACP

I've done quite a bit of reading and internet surfing on this subject lately.

What surprises me the most is how the M&P .45 holds it's own against the 1911 style. People seem to love this thing.

Going to have to take a closer look at the M&P in making my final decision. With all the positive comments and a price point well below a quality 1911 I'm kind of surprised at how well it stacks up on different review boards.

I have a M&P 9C and it's a good shooter.
