Re: Cleaning after carry?

I clean after range work, had been using MPro7 products, giving Froglube a whirl now after a friend had good things to say about it. My carry weapon (Glock 19) get wiped down with a silicone cloth daily and cleaned weekly whether or not it is fired at the range. I sweat a lot, so more preventive wor...

Re: U.S. Senate Race

Cruz here.

Dewhurst has committed a laundry-list of no-no's on things that are important to me. Most of those things have already been stated by others.

Re: Ammo cost rising

Was expecting this at some point, which is why I'm glad I bought a progressive reloader a few weeks back.

Re: WTB: Kimber Ultra (3" Barrell)

I have an Ultra CDP II that I have been considering selling for a while now. I live in the Austin area, but I'm in Plano for business until tomorrow afternoon. When I get home I'll post some pictures. No laser, and I replaced the rosewood grips with slimline VZ Grips Frag grips in Black, although th...

Re: 2012 weight loss group

Saw this thread this morning, and I need to drop about 30 lb. planning on competing in the Tough Mudder race in Austin in October and while I could make it at 215 lb., it'll be a whole lot easier at 185 lb. I had great success with 'The 4-Hour Body' diet last year, right up until I developed a hairl...

Re: Personal Defense Ammo

For my Commander sized 1911: 230 gr +P Winchester Ranger SXT
In my Glock 19: 127 gr +P Winchester Ranger SXT

I decided to standardize on this ammo after seeing its effectiveness back in my LEO days. Even feeds well in my Officer's Model 1911.

I know a few folks that work at Rudy's corporate offices. Which location was this 30.06 seen at? Feel free to let me know via reply or PM and I'll make an inquiry with them.

Re: Traveling to Washington DC

I'm sure you've thought about it, but allow me to echo the basics about DC. I work for Uncle Sam and I go to DC every year. You are not the target, your distracted teens are. My friends that work in DC don't carry purses. They don't worry about muggers, they worry about snatch and grab artists. Pic...

Re: Tactical Knife with a light?

I've competed in a few IDPA matches where you need to stab with your knife prior to shooting, so I'll make this short. Unless you plan to practice folding out and using a folding blade knife at very close quarters, go with a fixed blade knife with the maximum blade length possible for state or local...

Re: Holster for glock

I'll second the Crossbreed Supertuck. I recently started using a belt holster from Raven Concealment Systems though, and it conceals just as well for my frame, plus a draw stroke that is a tad more natural for me (meaning a higher ride like my holster back in my LEO days). I'd use the Crossbreed if ...

Re: Criminals wearing body armor.... a trend?

I hesitate to share this, but I'll give a personal observation on the matter based on my time, formerly, as a LEO in DC. When a person gets hit with a handgun round, they generally keep doing what they were doing before they were hit, unless the wound channel passes through a critical area (brain-pa...

Re: Best CHLs to Have for Reciprocity

...thanks for clarifying that...it's their state...they can do what they want to...but our boys/girls deserve every benefit we can give 'em...I don't think our Atty. General should honor WA permits, either, then... Hear you there. It is a bit frustrating to have to go through process more than once...

Re: Best CHLs to Have for Reciprocity

Washington State will NOT honor a TX CHL. I recently went through the process of obtaining a WA CPL on a trip to Seattle. Had a very long discussion with an attorney in Seattle's General Council prior to going through the process. In short, since TX will issue CHLs to active duty Servicemembers as y...

Re: Beretta sells out the gun community

I sent Mr. Cook a well reasoned letter spelling out exactly why, as a result of these actions, Beretta can expect to see a dip in their global revenue. I focused on the viral aspect of how news like this will blow up in the US shooting community, as well as informing him that I plan to educate every...
