Re: Hotel question
Now here is the problem. I occasionally stay at the Hampton Inn in Allen, Tx. Just for fun I checked to see if any rooms were available for tonight. On the web page was a link to Hotel Policies. This is what it displayed: Firearms Policy Carrying a weapon on these premises is prohibited and violator...

Re: Application of Penal Code sections 30.07 and 46.03, relating to the open carry of handguns, to school districts
I understand what Charles is saying but it bothers me that the AG's opinion includes the frequent use of the word "public" in it. As an example, we still have Christmas parades here in Panola County each year. The big parade in Carthage has bands from three or four school districts marchin...

Re: How does a college OPT OUT?
The only other thing subsidizing a private university is tuition (and donations). And while the tuition money may be coming from govt grants and loans, that money is actually going to the students. The student decides where to spend their tuition. While technically true that the money is going to t...

Re: How does a college OPT OUT?
I worked for 18 years in a private college in Texas in their IT department. One of my duties was helping the Financial Aid department prepare their yearly reports to THECB (Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board). I can assure you that private colleges receive state funds in the form of grants to...

Re: Leet's Give Up on the Constitution NY Times Editorial
This is undoubtedly one of the most obscene editorials I have read. I don't even have words to describe the contempt I feel for this supposed intelligent writer.

Re: Sig P238 owners
I have carried my P238 Equinox since May and have had no FTF's or FTE's. It's a great little EDC gun, especially easy to conceal when it gets so hot around here. I would prefer to carry my P226 but it's a little more dificult to conceal.

Re: SIG556
Cabelas has this rifle on sale for $999 right now. Is that a good price? Those of you who own or have shot one, what's your take on the gun? Top quality? Also ran? Does it compare to the AR-15? Completely different? What about mags? Interchangeable with PMAGs? Completely different? The government h...

Re: Do We Really Want Safe Schools?
I agree, but passing that is more difficult. I already drafted a bill that would put CHL's on the same footing as LEO's except for carrying in bars and carrying while intoxicated. It's in the hands of a Texas Senator who is deciding if he will file it. I would hope that the Newtown tragedy would gr...

What Legislature Committees will CHL Bills Be Assigned?
Generally speaking, what House and Senate committees will any of the proposed legislation we are interested in be assigned to? I would like to begin some lobbying plans for the next session.
