Re: Cornyn and McConnell Will Not Back Ted Cruz

This was probably the last chance to stop Obama care. Senator Cruz has shown how the Republican leadership has developed an attitude of acquiescence and accommodation toward the totalitarians of the democrat party. The Republicans make a lot of noise then do nothing. The next big noisy nothing will be the debt limit debate. The republicans have made a lot of noise about Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS tactics against the Tea Party, the NSA shredding of the 4th and 5th amendments but they have changed nothing. I have heard the RINO mantra of only being in control of one half of one third of the government being used as an excuse for noise and accommodation. It seems to me, however, that being in control of the House gives them tremendous power, the power to say no. Their refusal to use that power has made them irrelevant and allowed the totalitarians to succeed. Senator Cruz was absolutely correct when he compared them to Neville Chamberland.

Since taking back the House, with the aid of the Tea Party, the Republicans have done nothing except to raise taxes. I have considered myself a Libertarian for quite a few years, but have tended to vote Republican for Federal offices. I thought, wrongly I now believe, that it was more important to vote for Republican candidates to oppose the communist in Washington than a candidate who was closer to my philosophical views and had little chance of winning. However, noise and blather doesn't stand in opposition to anything. If Senator Cruz continues to walk the walk, I will vote for him when he stands for reelection. Other than him, I am done with Republicans. My only regret is I can't vote against McCain and McConnell.
