Re: Sul Position
Suarez is probably the biggest proponent of the position among the nationally-known instructors. And you'll get mixed advice about it. It's best use is not in extreme close quarters combat, though, but in navigating areas where there are non-combatants scattered around, and possibly in tight buildi...

Re: Krav Maga at Trinity Mills and Midway in N Addison any good?
Is Krav Maga at Trinity Mills and Midway in N Addison any good? Thanks. :tiphat: I'm a former long-time student of that school. Jack Bolowski, the owner, probably offers one of the more well-rounded self-defense programs in the area which I highly recommend if you don't have any previous reality ba...

Re: Suarez Instructor class is full
If you can't get into the Suarez course you can always attend one of Paul Howe's instructor courses. I think he's got one schedule for the first quarter of 2010. Not to knock Suarez, but I'd much rather have Howe's course as one of my credentials.

My Fair experience: I got there about 7:00 this evening and had my CHL in hand ready to ID myself. I walked right up to the main gate with not one member of security wanding me or validating my creds at the security checkpoint. I appreciate not being hassled, but security obviously needs to be a lit...

You may not be able to shoot a dog if it's attacking you, but it's nice to know you've got some civil protection if it's attacking Fido or Mr. Bigglesworth... ;-) Vernon's Texas Statutes and Codes Annotated Currentness. Re: D/FW rifle range that allows FMJ?
Gibson's Outpost in Mesquite on Lawson Road is FMJ friendly. It's $10.83 per day with a $6.00 annual membership fee.nitrogen wrote:Anyone know of a rifle range in the D/FW area that doesn't ban FMJ?
For some reason, it seems every range I know about doesn't allow FMJ, and I'm a cheap person.

I must have a really nice face, because the good people at the State Fair have let me in the past few years while carrying on my CHL! What concerns me this year about the fair this year is, as it was reported on KRLD this morning, random searches of vehicles will be conducted. Now I'm all abo...

Re: Handgun Question
Greetings, I'm new to the board, and new to the CHL bit. I have a question about taking the class and qualifying; I only have a single-action revolver (I know, I know, move into the 21st century... nah) Will that in and of itself be an impediment to becoming CHL qualified? Thanks, in advance, The S...

Re: question for TX instructors?
Since they aren't legally qualifed to receive a Texas CHL, why would the state allow a resident to carry on a non-resident CHL which essentially is an end-run around the CHL laws? For the same reason anyone else who has that state's license would be able to carry. The only things that might disqual...

Re: question for TX instructors?
If a Texas resident obtains a non resident CHL from another state and is not eligible for a Texas CHL due to a disqualification, would they still still be entitled to carry in Texas on their non-resident license? If you meet all the qualifications for your out of state license, and Texas honors tha...

Re: question for TX instructors?
I current am a resident of TX and live in Fort Worth. I am going to apply for a Florida Non-Resident permit. My question is: WITHOUT a TX resident CHL will the Florida non-resident permit cover me in TX for concealed carry? Please leave any responses out in your reply such as "support your loc...
