Re: CHL and moving
If you are still in the PRK when it is time to renew you will have to come to TEXAS :txflag: to take your renewal class. I know leaving all that sun and surf will be hard, just remember TEXAS :txflag: is God's country. Thanks MoJo and Keith. Keith responded to a thread that I started in January abo...

Re: CHL and moving
Thanks Keith..... I just want to ensure that I am complying with the law.
When it comes time for renewal and I am still in Kaliforniastan, can I renew my Texas CHL? What do I have to do?
If there is somewhere I can read this, please point me out.
Thanks brothers.

Re: Moving to California!
Hey Guys, Thanks for the responses.... If I do move, I am putting the bullet button on my AR, MP5 (Semi) etc.... The rules are just insane. The "Featureless" ARs look goofy as Tom Brady with long hair..... It is the Bullet Button! I do plan to do a last buy of pistols not available in reta...

Re: Moving to California!
I spent 10 years in California. Beautiful coastline; beautiful national/state parks. Worst state government and laws imaginable. My commiserations to you. You'll pry the cold, dead finger from my gun before I ever again live in California. :iagree: I've mentioned this before, but I spent two tours ...

Re: Moving to California!
Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom and advice. It is a big move for me...... I can't complain about the money here or there. People are packed in like sardines over there and I would only feel comfortable if I can carry concealed over there...... Thank goodness I will have my Texas CHL for out...

Re: Moving to California!
Don't have anything else to offer, but wanted to extend my condolences. Hope the opportunity there is worth the loss of freedoms & higher taxes - and I mean that in a sincere way, not a snarky way! Thank you brother. Trust me the taxes and my 2nd Amendment rights were forefront on my mind. I vi...

Interesting! Since you would have one of the 2 keys! It is in your control.... I need to research though, I don't like being a felon.

Re: Moving to California!
Thanks Guys.... For the advice but not the ribbing :) I am very thankful for the great state of Texas, I will gladly come back to take the CHL course when I need to renew. On the suppressors, is there a place where I can research the rules a bit more? I want to ensure that I comply..... There is no ...

Guys, Excuse my ignorance but I can't find answers on google or anywhere else..... I moved down from Canada where I can't even ask these questions. I am aware that it is illegal to discharge my firearm within Austin city limits but are there places where people just go and shoot (not a shooting rang...

Hey Guys,
I live around Austin. Is there an open piece of land where I can shoot my pistols and long guns? I would like to practice drawing etc. Also, is there a range around Austin where I can shoot CQC metal targets?
Sorry I tried searching.....
Thanks.
