How about a 30.05 sign posted at the 2022 Brazoria County Fair, a list of rules on their website prohibiting all firearms, and law enforcement denying access to LTC holders who are exempt from a 30.05 sign?
I emailed a formal written complaint to county judge Mark Sebesta and the Brazoria County Fair Assiciation. I’m about to forward that email to the county sheriff, constable, and Angleton police chief since they are the agencies enforcing things.
I don’t imagine I’ll get any replies on any of this, as usual, and will file with the state on Wednesday.
Is there anything else I can do to be a royal pain? This stuff continues to irritate me.

Wow, that was a prompt response. Kudos to Judge Henry!Jeff Barriault wrote:Galveston County Health District

I forwarded a copy of Charles' complaint form to Galveston County Judge Mark Henry's office. I will follow up with a complaint to the TX AG's office on Monday if the sign is not removed.
On a side note, the sign has the old language "GOVERNMENT CODE (CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW)". Is this sign now invalid because the new language is "GOVERNMENT CODE (HANDGUN LICENSING LAW)"?

Thank you for the email.
I've been directing these signs taken down since before the recent changes in the law. I'm a strong supporter of lawful concealed carry, I've even personally paid for CHL classes for county employees, about 50 so far.
Rest assured those signs (which got missed somehow) will be down Wednesday if they aren't already.
Thanks again for the notification.

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
The exact wording of PC 46.035(c) is, "A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, at any meeting of a governmental entity."blackdog8200 wrote:However, under Penal Code Section 46.035(c) it is an offense for the holder of a concealed handgun license to carry a handgun into any meeting of a governmental entity.
I think I've highlighted the key word here. I think Houston is trying to say if anyone working in their offices (governmental entity) has any kind of meeting it makes the entire premises off limits. But I think the intent of the law was to make carrying at a meeting off limits.
Let's make sure HB508 passes which will correct the statute to read: (c) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, GovernmentCode, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, in the room or rooms where a meeting of a governmental entity is held and if the meeting is an open meeting subject to Chapter 551, Government Code, and the entity provided notice as required by that chapter.

The Bayou Vista town hall/MUD/police/fire station building has a 30.06 sign. They hold elections there and city council meetings. I pretty much just ignore it at all other times.
