Re: At the end of the day

My two carry guns are G19 and G26. Both stay loaded all the time. One in the nightstand, one for carry, unless I am not going be at home, then one is in the gun safe, but still loaded.

I wear contacts during the day and switch to glasses late in the evening. The glasses stay on the nightstand in the same place every night, next to the 4 cell maglight. The glock that I carry daily goes in the drawer just under the eyeglasses. It is a good idea to have this stuff in the same place a...

Flew from Indy, first time with handgun

When the ticket agent looked in my locked case, she said "Is that the clip?" I said no, that is the slide and barrell, the handgun is disassembled. She then said, "What is in the box?" I said that it was ammunition. She said, "That can't be in the case. You can put it somewh...

I carry IWB during working hours, but when I get home and change into jeans my G19 usually goes into a "Beltster" holster with an untucked T-Shirt. I live on a busy corner lot, with a surprising amount of foot traffic from neighborhood teens. I know the G19 prints and often is exposed whil...

"Physicians only see the downside of firearms: people injured or killed by accidents, violent crime, or suicide." Not necessarily so...when I took my CHL class, there were four people in it; my personal physician, his wife, his daughter, and me. The pamphlet could be improved by stressing ...

I had mine done at Wal-Mart and they were rejected by the DPS because the photographer zoomed too close and my face was too big! It delayed my application by a month because I had to have the pictures retaken (Wal-Mart comped the retake). There are some guidlines for the photos, be sure to read them...

I'm also subject to hugs at church, as I carry a G19 IWB. I don't think I would ever use this, but I thought it was clever:

"Its a medical device."
"What kind of medical device?"
"A thorasic perforator."

Carry at Corps of Engineer Operated Park

I'm going to a Corps of Engineer's operated park this evening. Rules say loaded firearms are prohibited in one place, then it says state and local laws regarding firearms are applicable. Do you think I can carry there with my Texas CHL?

I alway carry at home, and I may take the cover off when I get there, but if sheeple come by I usually conceal. One reason is the gun grab possibility, the other is the fewer people that know, the better. If my neighbor comes by and sees me carrying at home, next time I see her in the grocery store ...

I haven't played golf since...yesterday. I tried playing once with a G26 in smartcarry...not unbearable, but not very comfortable either. I usually leave my gun locked in my vehicle, but I have been to some courses like some of the other posters described where I felt it was necessary to carry in my...

I bought this myself last year. My feeling is it will be a great help getting through the grand jury level. If it proceeds past that, you have an attorney that you can start paying, or who can refer you to another gun friendly attorney. It helps me sleep a little better...which is what all insurance...

More comfortable after a year

It has been a year since I received my CHL. I no longer feel like I am a great big gun walking around with a little person attached to it. I no longer worry about printing or being made. I've carried every day, everywhere its not prohibited. I do not like the gun free zones, but I respect the law. I...

I'd recommend you buy a copy of Paxton Quigley's book Armed and Female, read it yourself and leave it laying around for your wife to look at if she gets curious.
