My situation was this, first day to have the permit, going to dinner with friends. I guess I wanted to be confident with the carry especially when the safety of good friends are concerned. The more I carry, the more I feel comfortable and confident. It is more than punching holes in paper and I take the responsibility seriously. This website has provided me with a community of like minded people who have been in my "newbie shoes" who I feel I am learning from. Thanks to all!

First Night Out

Well my first trip out resulted in my 30 year streak of not being stopped by a LEO coming to an end. I got stopped for 72 in a 65. I gave the tropper my CHL and DL. He asked where my handgun was and I told him it was at home( I didn't bring it along). He gave me a written warning and sent me on my merry way. I really think he was playing the odds of finding something else. I think he was professional and courteous. I don't know if the CHL swayed the outcome or not. I have carried non-stop since.
