I work with veterans and have family and friends that are veterans (my wife's grandfather is a decorated WWII vet my grandfather was in Korea before my mother was born close to 25% of my coworkers are Vietnam or desert storm vets my uncle is a desert storm and Iraqi freedom vet) I personally was never able to join (3 knee surgeries in high school and currently in need of a forth) so I always try to thank every veteran I meet for doing something I was never able to even attempt, not to mention several guys I went to high school with have made the ultimate sacrifice during the first couple years of the combat in Iraq.
