Seems to be a good alternative to the tx process. Reciprocity in states not covered by tx too. Much cheaper - think I'll save $80 and go through az.
They need the money too....lots of 'mouths to feed' that don't belong there.

Re: Sealed record disclosure
Thanks Crossfire. You're right - a few opinions, some who don't know what "sealed" means or what "convicted" means as it relates to CHL statutes. Just wondered if anyone had gone through the same thing. For those who responded: Tx law states that a sealed record, or order of non ...

Re: Sealed record disclosure
Actually, that's not correct. If sealed, 5 year rule does not apply.
Looking for anyone with experience in what my original question relates to. Need for disclosure even if not legally required to, as well as documentation requirement.
Thx

Sealed record disclosure
I am applying for my CHL and have a class A misd sealed (order of non disclosure) in April of last year. For purposes of the DPS rules, this does not count as a conviction so I am eligible for a CHL. My questions are: By law, I can answer "no" to any question asking if I have been arrested...

Re: Pre Trial Diversion/Intervention??????
Just curious, did you list it as a prior arrest on your application? I have the same thing - prior, with deferred adjudication and ultimately sealed record. By law, I can omit the fact that I was ever arrested, but I don't want to play the semantic game and delay the process if I don't need to. Just...

Re: Legal Eligibility Question
Thank you to Crossfire! This was also how I interpreted the law, but wanted someone with more experience to confirm my understanding.

Re: Legal Eligibility Question
Oh, and by the way, it wasn't "family violence". Got attacked at a bar and ended up being the only one standing at the end.
Any help would be appreciated.

Legal Eligibility Question
New to the forum and the idea of getting a CHL. Was put on deferred adjudication for class A misdemeanor assault in 2008. Released from probation in 2009 with case dismissed. Finally had the record sealed in April. Also recently had a public intox citation expunged as I was acquitted. I've read and ...
