Houston, TOP GUN opening a new store

#1

Post by rgoldy »

TOP GUN range and gun shop is on Beverly Hill in SW Houston. It appears that they are opening a new store location
on US90 just north of Richmond Tx. (On the east side before you cross the bridge). I do not know opening date or whether they will also have a shooting range on the premises. I will keep an eye open for an opening date and let you know.... The Beverly Hill location is a well run, well equipped, if slightly expensive place to shoot.

Thanks for that information, that is great news. :hurry:

I live just a few minutes from there so I will have to drop in when they open. Hope they will have a range.

that gun shop is NOT affiliated with our shop. they have taken our sign, name, and are trying to hang on our coat tails to get a heads up.

ONCE AGAIN THEY ARE NOT affiliated with our store please do not both wasting your money on these imposters
Gee, no need to get into name calling mode...

I'm sure that they are properly registered in Fort Bend County with their buisiness name, as your place is with Harris County. And I have not seen them advertise that they are affiliated with you guys in any way.

IMO: Not a very professional thing for you to say in your employers name.

Thank you for clearing up the thought that the two are related as it seemed a logical conclusion.

But I wonder will Paramount pictures and Tony Scott be writing in to ask that we not patronize your store for doing the same?

Top Gun Security uses a logo similar to the movie.

My mistake, please accept my apology to all the members and former members of the United States Navy, for forgetting where the term "TOP GUN" came from. :patriot:

Geez guys, it was not my intention to stir up controversy. Let me revise my posting a bit.....
There is a new store with the name on the front TOP GUN, that appears to be opening just north of Richmond
river crossing bridge. On the north bound side. Now that I know it is NOT affiliated with Top Gun Range in Houston,
I will have to check further to see if it is even a gun store.....might be pilot training or summat.

Now see! I'm just up the road from there. I made the assumption they are affiliated because of the similar names. I currently jump on the bike and scoot over to Top Gun Houston for practice.
Its like any anything else; If it works well someone will copy it! You could look at it as a compliment to your reputation.... Until the ill words start flying! :banghead:

I sure hope it's a range.
If it's just a store front, then I'm glad it's not associated because as much as I like the Top Gun range in town, their prices are ridiculously high on guns!

Houston seems to be lacking in the competitively priced gun category. I would think someone who opened a shop that got near (doesn't have to match, but gets near) gun show prices would make a killing. I would imagine the local shops are losing a ton of money to online retailers because places like Carter's Country and Top Gun are about 10% or more too high. Even getting to Academy level of pricing would be nice. I'd buy from a knowledgable shop that marked up at the level of Academy, but had a better selection and people behind the counter who actually know what they're selling.

I passed there again on Monday. Still not open but looks like it will be soon. Sign says "Top Gun Firearms and Tactical Supplies". I am not sure what that implies, but does not positively indicate that there is a range on premises.
I agree on the situation at Houston's TOP GUN. Under the former owner they were high as a cats back on everything including range time. New owner a few years ago has the rep for being much more customer oriented, but I have not been back since previous owner left a bad taste in my mouth so I cannot say for sure. People who have been say that it is a first class facility since the rebuild.

Top Gun Firearms and Tactical Supply in Richmond, Tx has a website. They do not mention having a shooting range.

Can you go down to the riverbed and blast away? :biggrinjester:
