Thats a proper idea right there. Get an sense of what the land would cost, what legal issues may come up during the process, and a good economic model. When you have that, look for investors in the form of member owned, private equity.jimlongley wrote:Well, there is Jacob's Plain http://www.jacobsplain.com/ but that's an extra distance.
What I would like to see is someone buy CCGR and turn it into a private club - different zoning rules - and really torque off those who fought so hard to close it.
Reds indoor north and Eagle peak for me.jimmy wrote:I always use Red's Indoor Range in Oak Hill. It's convenient to my home, the staff is courteous, and the shooters seem like a responsible bunch. That said, the range is a bit run down and the AC is either blowing cold on the back of my neck or feels inadequate. But the convenience makes up for any shortcomings. With some other Central Texas ranges closing, I hope Red's stays in business a good, long time.
I've never had a satisfactory shooting session at Red's. I've been to the Oak Hill location a few times. I always feel rushed due to the $13 hourly fee they charge, the lighting's not very good, and the condition of the range markings leaves something to be desired, and the spotting sights and rifle rests are rickety and in disrepair. I'll agree on the AC as well - either way too cold or stuffy.fadlan12 wrote:Reds indoor north and Eagle peak for me.jimmy wrote:I always use Red's Indoor Range in Oak Hill.
