I got that email, as well (which is where I got the info that I quoted) and I'm not a member, yet. Every time I shoot, I usually get asked if I want to purchase a membership.

All I can say is ask. If they say "no, we're not selling the memberships any more", then there's no harm/no foul.

Hmmm.... Could be that the web site FAQ is not updated....
IIRC, I remember seeing membership rates on the web site as recently as last month...

I'll try to remember to ask next time I visit.

They've been having their problems with their web provider - I got the solicitation for the free membership for a year when we joined the email list last September, almost a year after it was supposed to have been ended. Don't know - this may be something similiar - they don't do their web site, themselves, from what I understand, so the FAQs could be out-of-date. I'm going to check when I go over this week (probably Thursday afternoon), as well - got the green light from the finance department to purchase a membership for myself.

Didn't manage to get to the range until Sunday (1/22) but they sold me a Patriot membership @$259. One of the clerks mentioned that they'll have a booth at the FW gun show in late Feb where the memberships will be discounted a bit.

Cool! Looks like they're satisfied that the membership program is working.

I can tell you it's nice to be able to leave work and go shoot for an hour and pay less than I did for my Subway sandwich at lunch!

Definitely my home range as well. I will, however, no longer go weekend mornings. It is very crowded. I don't mind waiting a bit for a good range but when there are that many people shooting and a line of others waiting to get in, that place gets smokey. I always have black shot when its that busy there.

The range is five minutes from my house and is really nice. I purchased a Pioneer membership before they opened, and shot in the first Tactical Tuesday Match. There are a few things I do not like about the range:

They are only open until 8pm Mon-Sat and 6pm on Sunday. During the week once you get off work, sit in traffic for up to an hour depending on where you live in DFW, get supper bought/cooked, visit with wife and kids, and get kids to bed it is 8pm. I sent them an email a few months ago about extending their hours until 9pm, and I have not received a response.

I have yet to drive by there since they opened that the parking lot has not been jam packed full of cars. Maybe the crowd is less during the workday, but after 5pm and on weekends it is solid full, with cars expanding to the business next door's parking lot. I understand that this is what you want as a business owner, and that they have room to expand to about twice the size. Expand already :).

When I shot the Tactical Tuesday Match, the first stage of the match was shooting a target moving away from you six times, and the target was not armed and did not have any of your property. Somebody explain to me what is tactical about that.

There will be at least one Pioneer membership available in March, because I do not plan on renewing. The owners and staff are great people, friendly and professional. It is a great facility but their hours and my hours are not compatible.

it's a good place to shoot. But the pleasant, professional staff is the best part.
I don't know....the super cute young lady behind the counter with a pistol on her hip and a knife in her back pocket was a nice plus too. :thumbs2:
Was she a redhead? If so, my wife noticed her too and commented "she is too cute."

Wife and I were out for a Sunday drive yesterday and since we were in the area we decided to stop by and check it out. I did have my S&W Bodyguard .38 in my pocket, of course, but I did not plan to shoot. Went in and were immediately greeted by one of the super professional and very friendly staff. Had a few questions about the range, got the nickel tour, had a few questions about active/electronic hearing protection, the gentleman offered my his to demo, liked em, bought a pair of them (Howard Leight/Sperian Impact Sport muffs) for my wife and I! Also bought a pair of safety glasses for my wife and a gun cleaning mat, been wanting one of those for awhile. I liked their rental fleet, nice selection. I do not have (yet?) a nice .22 semi auto, which they have one to rent (Ruger MkIII), my wife will be using this for her first time shooting.

We were about to leave and one of the staff asked if we wanted to shoot...thought about it...but it was close to the end of the day so we politely declined. We definitely will be back though, very nice place!

we both broke down and joined today, hard to beat 2 buck range fees. especially since we have been going at least once, mostly twice a week since she started getting in to it with me. nice range for sure, really friendly people, but you just have to wait a little while for the lanes. it was a 45 minute wait today, crazy busy. we are going back tomorrow to shoot my new AR, and week days are normally easy in and out.

Took my son out to shoot for his 13th birthday this weekend :woohoo .
Got there at 8.45 Sunday morning and there was already 1 car in the parking lot. Get there early on the weekends...
By the time the doors opened there were 6-7 of us walking in the door. I have been going to them now since fall of `11 and have never had a bad experience.

The only thing I notice is every so often it get's smokey quickly and even with bright yellow eyes on it's hard to see until it clears.
:fire
Maybe when they do expand (like they've been talking about) they'll invest in different ventilation?

All in all it's a nice place to go and go through a box or three of ammo with my son.
