Combat Practice range

#1

Post by txbroker »

I've taken a few combat handgun courses and like to practice my draw and home anti-invasion tactics. However Practice with your CW of choice with live ammo is the best way to get better.

No ranges I know of in DFW allow rapid fire at multiple targets or have an advanced walk through course? I have been reduced to a place way south of DFW with a bunch of gun bunnies where safety is not a real concern, hence I am unable to take the wife and daughter.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Hope one of the DFW folks can direct you to a suitable range. Post like this make me ever & always thankful for our range that allows all you are talking about. I am in Lufkin, so if you are ever this way & can give me some notice I will try to fix my schedule to take you as a guest.

Instead of way south, you could go way west to Tac-Pro. It's about 65 miles, but they are good folks out there.

Try IDPA. It's not combat or tactics training but you can get a lot out of it depending on how you play the game.

Come visit us at the Dallas Pistol Club in Carrollton. We are a private range so you have to be a member to shoot there by yourself, but we allow non-members to shoot with us at our competition matches. We have a "Real World Gun" match this Saturday, the 23rd, and a steel match the 24th. Come bring toys and play with us if you can and check us out. You can come out and just watch if you like. Ask for a director or Range Officer and they will show you around.

I know this post is old, but I know of the Adrenalin Proving Grounds (http://www.apgtraining.com/) in Greenville is supposed to be a good place to take classes from basic handgun to basic sniper and S.W.A.T. (although basic sniper and basic S.W.A.T. are basically dead IMO since they are so highly trained professions).
