Define what you mean by "good". That might narrow it down.

Great list, thanks.

I noticed Elk Castle, 8240 I-30 West, Fort Worth, TX was listed.

Anybody ever go there?
I drive right by this place frequently

Elk Castle is probably the cleanest indoor range you will ever visit. Air quality is top notch. They are picky about ammo, but still a good place to shoot

Also have a great gunsmith on site.

What do you mean by this?

Can I assume if you shoot here it's best to buy the ammo yer gonna
shoot from them to avoid having issues (and they get to make a buck)

Of course, there's nothing wrong with this unless their
ammo prices are sky high...

No reloads and no steel cased ammo. You don't have to buy it there.

Do you care to expand your declaration " ... stay away from Quail Creek type places?" It doesn't give me anything except a possible dislike by one person for unknown reasons.

I have gone to the http://www.quailcreekrange.com/ for both my pistols and rifles as it is a straight shot down 1171 for me and you can fire almost anything except rocket-propelled grenades.

I am looking for more options in the greater southern Denton County area, though! :txflag:

Do a search for "never going to quail creek again" thread that was started by JWA4Life ยป Sun Feb 10, 2008 2:00 pm in Shooting Ranges and talks about the good (and bad) experiences at Quail Creek. I have been there twice and hadn't run into the "range nazi" that others have mentioned.
