Range Report ....The Arms Room 08/16/2011

It has been a long time since I gave a range report so here goes.
My wife and I wanted to get some more range time in and send some lead down range with the new LWRC carbine to zero the scope in.
We arrived about 7pm and there was no line for the rifle lanes. I think the people in front of us had a short wait for a pistol range though. I was somewhat taken aback by having both my rifle case and range bag zip tied. I understand that it was a new rule (July 16th) brought about by some misguided clowns loading their weapons in the waiting area.
We actually found the two young ladies on the front desk rather rude and unfriendly on our initial contact, which was most unusual for The Arms Room in my experience. I later discovered that the one that checked us out when we were leaving was new and very inexperienced. I asked her if they had a Taurus Judge for rent and she didn't even know what it was.
Anyway on to the fun stuff.
We set the sighting in target at 25ft and rested the M6 on the bench. The first shot was spot on the center cross, the second right next to it and the third joined the group nicely. I think that The Arms Room gunsmiths pretty much got the sight put on there perfectly
My wife's grouping was pretty impressive too, no adjustments were needed. The gun itself is awesome! smooth trigger, not too bad on the recoil and it ran like a train. No problems whatsoever.
We took the Glock G17, Springfield XD9 and my wife's personal favorite...her Sig Sauer P238.
All guns performed perfectly .... except for the Sig
The Sig had 2 stovepipes which happened on the last round each time. It stuck in the magazine after firing. Strange. Next time we will take the other magazine and see if it is just the magazine, the gun, or the ammunition. I am sure we will get to the bottom of it.
The whole evening was 'mission accomplished' with the exception of that issue with the Sig. I still think the XD9 is the most accurate pistol in our collection, loud, but accurate beyond belief. I did notice that the XD9 needs some new night sights though (more money! lol)
Things were starting to get a little busy when we left but I don't know if there was a waiting list or not. We left about 8 ish.
I have to say that the new rule of zip tying the bags, while understandable, is slightly annoying. Make sure to get your ears and eyes out before they zip tie. I think we are going to just use theirs in future.
