We all knew this going in. And so did Chauvin... if he has any intelligence... he knew he would be sacrificed regardless of guilt.

Of course he was. The jury is probably disheartened they couldn't follow Maxine's mandate to make it first degree murder. In fact I'll wager they spent more time discussing why they couldn't make it first degree murder instead the three counts than they did electing a foreman discussing and voting him guilty.
