3 murders this weekend in Houston.
In contrast a record 5 days of no shootings in NYC. Never happened in 30 years. Not bad for a gun free city.

It was however ended this weekend.

Man arrested and charged with capital murder of a police officer, released on bond here in Houston.
Yes Houston is a Blue City and County.

Probation for most likely a murder. Hiding a body in a trunk of a car till cause of death can't be determined, then given probation for the corpse crime.
Yes this is the new Houston under a new DA with same old let them out judges.
BTW. Previous DA charged county appointees of the new young County Judge with financial crimes in the awarding an 11 million dollar heath care Covid contract to a company in business less than a month and no health care experience, who is a supporter of the judge. (Turning down the proposal from the Texas Medical Center) The new DA found that there was not enough evidence to proceed with the case, the County Commissioners Court has decided to pay each of the formerly charged appointees and the County Judge a total of $900,000 to pay their attorney fees. The County Judge was never charged.

Re: TX:The mean streets of Houston -bus rider sucker punched
This was posted on Redit:
" Sucker punched on the metro today
For context, I work downtown and it’s about a 7-10min bus ride from my place to the nearest stop to my office. I know the metro isn’t ideal, but it beats $15 for parking everyday. This morning, the bus was full of normal enough people headed downtown for work plus one or two homeless (very normal for the route I take).
My roommate and I both work in the same area and rode the bus together this morning. About halfway along our brief commute one of the homeless dudes gets up and heads to the front of the bus towards where I’m seated, all the while talking to himself. I very incorrectly assumed he was getting off at the next stop. While conversing with my roommate and not paying that close of attention to my surroundings, it felt like someone threw a brick at me. Didn’t hurt all that bad or knock me out, but had blood spewing everywhere. Was just more confused than anything.
I look up and my roommate had stood up to intervene. The homeless dude paid no mind to my roommate and kept staring me down and shouting. I became even more confused, as I hadn’t so much as looked in this guys direction for the entire ride. Still not sure why he was so fixated on me and me alone. We got off at the next stop and I took an Uber home to collect myself. So much for saving a few bucks lol.
Funniest part of this in hindsight, when I looked up after getting hit at my assailant and the rest of the bus, nobody had any sort of reaction. It was like this was a daily occurrence for the other passengers. Maybe it was fear that caused them to stay put. Though, if I saw someone like myself getting mauled by some tweaker unprovoked I think I’d stand up and say something (for reference I’m not the smallest guy in the world either). Guess I’m glad I had someone already with me at least
There’s some crazy people out there man. Just encouraging y’all to stay safe. Also wondering if this kinda situation has ever happened to someone else? For reference I’ve been taking public transit in this city for a while (mostly the metro rail) and have never had to get physical with anyone.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading :)
EDIT: my roommate and I were working on a police report this afternoon"
Wonder if all the other bus riders got out their phones and recorded it. I guess deadly force could not have been used by the roommate?
I really would not have wanted to touch the homeless guy, even if it was to punch him. Too bad the roommate didn't do a Nobody on the guy.
This is from Nobody if you havent seen it.

Would you recognize the assailant if you saw him again?
