It amazes me what people think they can legally do and how they are oblivious to our legal system - what they can and cannot do. Many folks here are headed for the long road to prison if they ever put into action their thoughts expressed on this forum. I would suggest people keep an eye out for the 4 hour seminar that Charles presents at PSC. Sign up and take many notes.......

Thats why it is called a forum. We can speculate all day long and hopefully glean something from one another's take on things.mrvmax wrote:It amazes me what people think they can legally do and how they are oblivious to our legal system - what they can and cannot do. Agreed, but this forum is specifically pertaining to CHL so I would expect people to read the info on the site to be better informed. Most of us are on other forums and I expect stuff like that at those, just surprised to see it here.Purplehood wrote:Thats why it is called a forum. He got out of prison seven months ago after serving 10 years on a manslaughter conviction for firing into a crowd outside the Galleria mall in White Plains to scare off a group of rivals. One teenage acquaintance of McIntosh's was killed and a young boy injured.knotquiteawake wrote:That dude was not just a "felon." Thats way too light of a label for him. He was a MURDERER, he went to prison because he shot and killed a classmate in High School. The video shows his coworkers trying to stop him after the women are on the ground. So, assuming that they see what he sees, they believe the threat from the women is stopped yet he continues to beat them. One of these girls has a fractured skull! He definitely needs to go back to Prison. He's clearly not learned his lesson. The video to me looks like he's trying to kill them, not keep them back, not keep them from hurting him, he moved way past that. The good news is that if he is 31 and he just spent 10 years in prison for murder, then he was likely an adult when that murder happened so the Jury will get to hear about that (if he was a minor I'm assuming the jury would never know that he had committed murder in the past).
If you noticed, they looped the video which made it look like he delivered more blows than he actually did. One article I read said he hit them every time they started to get up.
I don’t believe half of what the media reports so I leave it up to a jury to decide.
One article had the headline “Rayon McIntosh on how to turn a quarter-pounder into a double-whopper”.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

The guy who refused to be a victim didn't have a CHL. He didn't defend himself with a concealed handgun. He wasn't even in Texas.mrvmax wrote:Agreed, but this forum is specifically pertaining to CHL

Take a look at the top of the page. This section is “The Crime Blotter”. The posts run the gamut from Obama’s stolen teleprompter (not in Texas either) to a Burglary victim (probably not a CHL holder either) fighting off an intruder with a samurai sword.
As far as I know, in "Off Topic" almost anything is fair game.

It sounds like you agree with me. We can discuss things that aren't directly related to Texas CHL. Also we should admit that Texas CHL laws don't apply to things that happen outside of Texas to people without a Texas CHL. Third, we can talk about our opinions and aren't limited to talking about the law.VoiceofReason wrote:Whaaaaat?boba wrote:The guy who refused to be a victim didn't have a CHL. People who haven't been in a real fight can't understand what it's like to fight for your life. It's easy to Monday morning quarterback but as the saying goes, "detached reflection cannot be demanded in the presence of an upraised knife." For those who don't "get it" I pray you never have to.

He claims self-defense, but I doubt if any self defense is permitted in New York, if it injures the criminal.
Maybe if more criminals were injured or killed in the commission of their crimes in New York there would be less of this.

Its says 9mm shell casings, so was some one sniper shooting an elementary school with a handgun? Maybe an uzi.
You would think by now New Yorkers would be unhappy enough to change their liberal ways, but they just keep taking it.

It is rare for a felon to have their right to self defense recognized. I see the 2 women could still see repercussions:SC1903A3 wrote:Update: Grand Jury declines to indict.

Authorities identified the women as Denise Darbeau and Rachael Edwards, who authorities say each face pending charges of menacing, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

It would appear someone actually looked at the totality of the circumstances which is unusual for New York City.
