Not sure which agencies participate in this site - I understand Harris County and the City of Houston do, but this will give you an idea of crime going on in various areas. Just type in an address, or area, and search.

There are sex offenders everywhere. Most have never been convicted.

My point was just that the northern parts of the county don't have this level of violent crime.

The man may not think so now, but I believe that he's fortunate in having nothing worse than a broken leg after that collision (if it were me, I'd certainly not feel fortunate).

I've always been puzzled when people are in some kind of disaster, and barely escape with their life, and then say they were lucky.

If they were lucky, they would have been somewhere else, like the racetrack, winning the trifecta.

Just thinking how much worse it could have been.

But you're right. If he were truly lucky, he would have been somewhere else when the drunk decided to go for a drive.

Yeah, the "best" bike wreck is plenty bad. I knew a guy who lost his leg in one.

Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, four black males in their teens or twenties armed with at least two handguns robbed a house in the 300 block of Westwood Circle in La Marque.

Two girls who were in the house were held at gunpoint but otherwise not harmed.

That could have turned out much worse.

This is the second robbery or burglary recently in this sparsely populated area near I-45 and FM 1764. This area is only nominally in La Marque. (La Marque was extended years ago to include the dog track and later a large retail store at the same intersection.)

Hmmm.............could have been 4 teenagers from the football team depressed about losing the state championship game?

Nah, probably not.

We haven't visited sunny La Marque for a while. The situation has improved since the new police chief took over. However, not every crook is behind bars.

Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday a woman parked her vehicle at the Walmart store at I-45 and FM 1764 and left it running with her 15-year-old son in the back seat.

A man who had been loitering in the parking lot got into the vehicle and started driving away. The boy attempted to remove the keys from the ignition. The alleged robber pushed the boy from the moving vehicle. The boy was not hurt. The vehicle was found later in Houston.

The suspect was described as a tall, thin black man (which really narrows it down).

A few of us have an attention span longer than that of a chihuahua. But I guess in the age of twitter, everything more than five minutes old is ancient history.

That's why this forum is full of messages that are absent correct capitalization, punctuation, spelling, or grammar, which used to be taught in grade school.

Carry on with the joviality. ;-)

The suspect was identified by someone who saw the photo the police released. I'm guessing someone in La Marque who knew him was not his friend.
