The above link is about 1 minute, 28 seconds long. It is surveillance video from Venezuela.
A store owner has just locked up his store (timestamp says 622 PM, still daylight), and has gotten into
the driver's seat of his Jeep <Cherokee?>.
His situational awareness is great. A carjacker approaches him with his pistol drawn.
The GG immediately starts shooting and the BG falls motionless to the ground. I could not determine if the
BG was wounded or dead. It looks like he was hit by multiple rounds.
I applaud the GG for his situational awareness, his quick draw, and his accuracy from the awkward position
in which he had to shoot (from the driver's seat, and while shooting backwards).

Looks pretty dead from my perspective. Im sure if you asked him now (assuming he was able)...he'd probably say the car or whatever he was after wasnt worth it...

Look pretty dead to me too. I'm curious about that other guy that was coming around the corner, what was he up to?

I don't think BG will be doing that again anytime soon.

Was that a second carjacker that beat a hasty retreat, or an innocent pedestrian? I think it was the former...
Edited to say, after looking again I think it was an innocent pedestrian. They came around the corner after
the shooting began.

That's what I think too. It appears he heard the scuffle and came to help. As he walked into view, he turned toward the altercation, rather than continue walking by, and appeared to reach for something at his waistline. He then took a step toward the fight. When the shots were fired, he apparently decided he didn't like his partner all that much.
Chas.

Second car jacker. Once the shooting started and bullets were coming his direction he beat feet.

My guess is that the initial BG was a passenger in the car that enters frame left at about 18 seconds and parks just on the other side of the building. Then driver gets out to help is BG buddy sees the guns and runs.

Also looks to me like the second guy was a bad guy... maybe reaching for a weapon as the first shots were fired.
First guy looked very dead. Victim was well prepared, apparently.

He decided to turn his life around, right then and there.
It is astonishing to see how fast this was. There was no time to run your checklist, decide whether the force was deadly, rack the slide to put one in the chamber, say your prayers or anything. You had to get your gun and start shooting right now or suffer the consequences.

jmra....you are my at-work video hero.....thanks!
1) yep....BG is at worst seriosly incapacitated and at best deadski.
2) Great point by JALLEN, it all happens unbelievably fast, which only solidifies my decision to carry one in the chamber.

If you didn't have one in the chamber, you still don't, and won't be needing it. You might as well have had a hammer, or a fudgsicle.

He said that because jmra embedded the video in the thread. Some people at work can only see the video if it's embedded in the thread.
