The only thing unremarkable about this is the fact the policeman shot and killed the suspect as the 14 year old boy was chasing another man and firing at him. Police identified themselves and told the youth to drop the gun. When he didn't he was shot. Pretty straight forward. Except:

Its in New York City, guns are illegal.

The youth was previously arrested for shooting a fifteen year old. (what there is no jail in NYC for youths) He will miss his first court appearance.

The policemen were both rookies (two months on the job) and near as I can tell fired only one bullet and it hit him in the jaw.

Whats an Astra 100?

The two policemen went to the hospital for ringing in the ears.

Great job by the rookie. One shot and one bad guy falls. No warning shots (wait for the public comments later).

Conservation of ammo is always a priority under the present circumstances.

No doubt missing his intended target as usual. What on earth was he doing out of jail? Scheduled court appearance for weapon possession and a previous recent arrest in May on attempted murder charges...

Nice shooting by the rookie.

Revolving door Justice program keeps a lot of people employed in Government. One must wonder at times if Government really wishes to rein in crime at all. It often appears the intent is to disarm law abiding citizens so the criminals can flourish and keep them employed.

I assume a judge let this criminal go free so he could attempt to murder someone else. Maybe that Judge needs to be held accountable for decisions made. I assume the Mayor was nowhere around, probably hiding in his closet sipping a big gulp.

Great job by the Rookies. Rookie for mayor!!

This story must be a complete fabrication - there is no way a NY cop shoots enough rounds to hit a suspect without numerous bystanders being wounded. Maybe the rookie cop was from Texas.

Douse, who lived a couple miles away in the Morris II public housing complex, had multiple prior arrests, police sources said.
Another product of public housing, imagine that.

I read that the attempted murder charges were dropped because a witness and and the person being shot at were no longer being cooperative with the DA and police. Charges had to be dropped as the case fell apart but apparently the kid didn't learn and it's not surprising because it's alleged he has gang ties and both shootings were likely gang related.

Here's a link with a bit more info

I know it shouldn't, but it still amazes me how ignorant the family members of these worthless criminals are. His family thinks it was a cover up, there was no gun. Oh, but they have video that shows him attempting to murder another person, right before the police shot him.... that can't be him.... he was a good kid. He was raised primarily by his mother.... big surprise there. I don't feel the least bit sorry for the mother or the rest of his family. They played their part in his raising, or the lack thereof, that allowed him to become a serious criminal by the age of 14. I for one like to hear these stories, where scum like this guy no longer get to be a burden on our society. Unfortunately there are so many just waiting to take his place on the street :mad5
