She saved him from the bother and humiliation of having to register as a Sex Offender.

What a wonderful outcome. Without a gun, this woman would have had no means of protecting herself and the criminal would have been able to do whatever he wanted. Instead, she is safe and he is dead, setting an example to his friends and others like him. Stories like this are the strongest argument for guns in the hands of law abiding citizens in any place.

And this brave woman, is ALSO setting the example to all of us to take responsibility of our own well being and safety. My hat is off to her.

I'm not defending him, but I've heard him justify it as "so officers can tell the good guys from the bad guys". I get that.. And it makes sense.
The problem is that by the time LEOs get there, 20 people are already dead.
Personally, I'd rather have 5 dead and risk the LEOs shooting the wrong one.
