While Showering, West Houston Woman Realizes Burglar is in Home

"It's the most terrified I've ever been in my life," she said. The only thing she could think of was to scream. Thankfully, the burglar wasn't there for violence, and he ran.

After handling the police report, she said, "I went to Carter's Country to buy a gun. And then I went to another place to take lessons."

I can relate. If alone in the house, the shower is the only time I feel unaware and unprepared.

Ah how I love my German Shepherd. Catch me unprepared in the shower....perhaps....but her? Never.

I don't know, I've never had to give any of my guns heartworm medicine, or make sure they have clean water to drink. Just sayin

I like the shower accessory idea, it would definitely cause a burglar to rethink his career choice if he saw me coming towards him with a gun in my hands naked and wet. Even if I didn't have to shoot him, his therapy sessions would last for years.

Nothing like having an active burglar deterrent, a medium to large dog is generally all that is needed to convince a burglar to seek a softer target!
Guns typically don't provide much deterrent if your not home
Government, like fire is a dangerous servant and a fearful master
If you ain't paranoid you ain't paying attention
Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war let it begin here- John Parker

The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

We have a 95lb solid black German Shepherd and a solid white husky. Usually one or the other scares the crap out of people. If the ear splitting barking and flash of white teeth doesn't terrify them the wolfish howl tends to send them running for the door.

We have 105lb chocolate lab that is atypical, 70lb yellow lab that is typical, she no threat, a 70lb pit mix that would probably not like you in her house and a 65lb sheperd mix that is very fast and would probably be the first one to said burglar! The big lab when he rides in my truck if somebody gets too close he'll show them his teeth!

How does one open the vacuum sealed bag?

I tried to open one with my teeth and sadly, that doesn't work.

:iagree:

We have several very large dogs in our home. My wife asked me the other day why I leave the light on in the dog room with the blinds open. I told her that if somebody is looking to come in our home uninvited, I'd like them to see the dog room with 5 very large empty crates so they know what they are up against should they decide to come in. I'd like to think a room with nothing but large empty dog crates would be a fairly good deterrent.

As I was reading the first few lines of your post, the last line jumped into my head as well. That just isnt a bad idea at all. I have a yippy dog for alarm duty. A big crate might get a ner-do-well to think the Lhasa has a buddy. I like it.
