The man who attacked an officer at Paris' Notre-Dame Cathedral on Tuesday said, "This is for Syria," French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said.
The man, believed to be an Algerian student, attacked the officer with a hammer but was also armed with knives, Collomb said.
Poor Algerian refugee - probably misunderstood when he heard someone talking about a "tack driver".skeathley wrote:Col Cooper said:

Euro cops carried actual machineguns long before US cops got rid of their revolvers. It is only in the UK that the cops went without firearms. When the Soviet-inspired and -backed terrorist groups were operating in the 70s and early 80s airports and other places were routinely patrolled by police and paramilitary outfits with machine pistols.chl-dawg wrote:glad to see the police at least got guns !
